Alro supports Romanian cultural projects

Slatina, September 20, 2017 – Alro S.A. (BVB: ALR, the "Company" or "Alro"), the largest aluminum producer in continental Europe (excluding Russia and the Scandinavian Peninsula), is supporting cultural projects initiated by Romanian artists by donating aluminum materials. The company has supported painter and sculptor Alexandra Nechita in her project of creating painted metal sculptures.
"We continuously support cultural, social, and educational projects that aim to develop the communities where we operate," said Gheorghe Dobra, CEO of Alro. "In our business, we have aimed to expand the range of products to produce in Romania the highest processed aluminum. We joined Alexandra Nechita's project because it is entirely made with Romanian materials by a Romanian artist whose fame has reached worldwide recognition."
The three-dimensional or multidimensional metal sculptures painted by Alexandra Nechita are displayed during the Enescu Festival, outdoors, in front of the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, as part of the "Garden of Sculptures" project. These sculptures will later be donated by the artist.
Alro is also involved in other educational and social projects, ranging from partnerships with the Romanian Red Cross to collaborations with high schools, vocational schools, and universities. These partnerships aim to facilitate internships for students, the creation of year-end, bachelor's, master's, or doctoral theses, various research topics, and professional training classes for careers of interest to Alro.
Alexandra Nechita is a Romanian painter based in the United States, known for her cubist-style paintings. She held her first personal exhibition at the age of eight at the Los Angeles Public Library. Nechita's paintings are found in museums worldwide, including the Vatican art collection, the National Museum of Art in Romania, as well as private collections owned by Larry King, David Letterman, Whoopi Goldberg, and Calvin Klein, among others.
