Personal Data Processing Policy of ALRO S.A., ALUM S.A., VIMETCO PLC

The requirements for personal data processing are observed within ALRO S.A., ALUM S.A., and VIMETCO PLC (hereinafter collectively referred to as "ALRO") in accordance with the provisions of data protection under Regulation (EU) 679/2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (hereinafter “GDPR”).

Both when establishing the means of processing and during the processing itself, ALRO implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure and to be able to demonstrate that processing is performed in compliance with applicable legal requirements.

ALRO takes all necessary measures to ensure that, by default, only personal data strictly necessary for each specific purpose of processing are processed.

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person ("data subject"); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier, or to one or more specific elements, inherent to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural, or social identity of that person.

1. Description

Our personal data processing policy describes how we will collect and process the personal data of our customers, business partners, potential clients, potential employees, and potential collaborators. It applies to all personal data collected on our website, www.alro.ro, as well as all personal data we collect via email, the website, or any other means of communication through which these data are processed.

We may also collect information about your preferences through the aforementioned website when you request information from us or engage our services or otherwise.

2. GDPR Principles

Whenever we process personal data, we will adhere to the following principles:

  • Lawfulness, fairness, and transparency: Your personal data will be processed "lawfully, fairly, and transparently."
  • Purpose limitation: Your data will be collected for specific, legitimate, and clearly defined purposes, and any further processing will not deviate from these purposes.
  • Data minimization: Any collection of personal data will be carefully considered before requesting the data to be processed, and will be relevant and strictly limited to what is necessary for the purposes of processing.
  • Accuracy: Controllers must take all measures to ensure the accuracy of data, and data proven to be inaccurate must be updated without delay or deleted.
  • Storage limitation: Data must be kept only for the period necessary to achieve the processing purposes. Longer storage periods are exceptions related to public archiving, research, or statistical activities under certain conditions.
  • Integrity and confidentiality: Personal data processing must be carried out in a secure manner, including protection against unauthorized or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction, or damage, through appropriate technical or organizational measures.

Rights

ALRO ensures the respect of the rights granted to data subjects under GDPR, including:

  • Right of access: Allows you to obtain details about the processing of your personal data.
  • Right to rectification: Allows you to correct your personal data if they have been processed incorrectly.
  • Right to erasure: Allows you to delete your personal data in certain cases (e.g., if the data is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected).
  • Right to restriction of processing: Allows you to obtain the restriction of the processing of your personal data in certain cases (e.g., when you contest the accuracy of your personal data, for a period allowing us to verify such accuracy).
  • Right to object: Allows you to object to the continued processing of your personal data under the conditions and limits set by law.
  • Right to data portability: Allows you to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format or to transfer this data to another data controller.

ALRO will process your data lawfully, fairly, and transparently; the purposes for which we use these data are well-defined, specifically for preparing and providing the services and products you request from us.

Among other things, your data will be processed for communication purposes via email, correspondence, phone, or any other means through which responses to your requests will be transmitted. In this case, the processing of personal data will be based on legitimate interest to provide our services in accordance with the contractual relationship.

In all cases, data are provided directly by you as a result of our request and your consent. Categories of data processed in this context generally include name, surname, email address, and other personal data provided to ALRO, usually by you, for the purposes outlined above.

ALRO requests the provision of all categories of personal data exclusively for the above purposes, to carry out our current activities and provide our services.

  • Disclosure of Personal Data

As a rule, your personal data will not be disclosed to third parties. However, if necessary, we will disclose relevant personal data to public authorities that request such data.

  • Duration of Personal Data Storage

Your personal data will be stored in accordance with our internal policies and legal obligations.

If the data are not stored based on a contractual relationship, they will be kept for as long as necessary to achieve the purpose of processing.

3. Miscellaneous

This privacy policy is effective as of May 25, 2018.

This privacy policy may be updated periodically. On the day of the update, ALRO's website will display a notice with a link to the changes in the ALRO data protection policy.

Additionally, you are informed that you have the right to file a complaint with the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing in Romania if you believe that your personal data processing violates applicable laws.
